Music Class

Music is an important element in Capoeira Angola. During the class students learn how to play the musical instruments beginning with the simpler ones before moving on to the more complex ones and also the songs that accompany the game. All the songs are in Portuguese, which gives the students a chance to learn a new language and culture.
Music classes are open to both beginners and advanced players since each one can experience and express rhythms and musicality at their own level.

The Roda

The Capoeira Angola Roda is one of the rituals of Afro-Brazilian culture that is still alive and practiced today. In ECAMAR Sydney, it takes place every second Saturday of the month 1pm, and it is a time for the students to practice the movements that they have been training during the week. The challenges that they offer one another enables the students to improve their skills and have a fun game as well.
Everyone is welcome to come, whether you are a student who wants to participate in the games or whether you simply want to see a traditional Roda of Capoeira Angola. We ask you to come along 15 min before the Roda start.
